That time 3 months ago, no student would be in McD without a book in hand. This time, everybody came empty handed, with only anticipation on their minds. Well there was an exception in the case of the Poh, but then again Poh doesn't fit the typical stereotype of "normal". That day, McD was packed with SFI students. Everywhere you turn, you see Franciscans. We were dominating the place.
Everybody is waiting
At about 10.10am, we left the place and headed to our school. The results were supposed to be out by 10.30, so thus started the long wait. At about 10.20, Puan Chong Chew Yong came to school with the results in hand. She stepped out of her car, gave us all a big smile, pointed her thumb skywards, and proceeded to the office. Thus started the suspense. The results were only a few metres away from us, yet we couldn't see it. We waited for about 20 minutes in the veranda in suspense, as each minute passed we were all getting more and more anxious, with a nervous tension in the air.
Everybody is still waiting
Soon after that, a teacher came and told us that our school had 25 straight A students, with 3 out of that achieving straight A+, the highest rank. The 3 were Lee Kin Mun, Donovan Tay, and Chong Wen Hao who had already left for the Chief Ministers Office to receive their results from him. At that moment, everyone was wondering whether they were included in that 25. And the suspense grew.
At about 11, we finally stepped into the hall to receive our results. The wait was over. Everything happened in a blur of emotions, people were shouting for joy, some just walked away disappointed, while others were unsatisfied. To my joy and delight I had achieved straight A's! So i too joined in the joyful throng, together with my other friends who had also obtained straight A's.
No photographs of the celebration as i was also part of it. XD
After all the photographs had been taken, and the excitement died down few of us decided to go for a movie, Alice in Wonderland in 3D. Not half bad. i would say, though without the 3D effects it would be not worth watching.
So after that we met up with 2 of our straight A+ scorers, Kin Mun and Wen Hao. After exchanging a few words with them I left as i was not felling too well.
Well, thus the 1st chapter of my life has ended. After 11 years bound under the education ministry, I am finally free to choose my own academic path. However the path is still murky and filled with fog, for,
We are living our lives
Abound with so much information
Come on, let go of the remote
Don't you know you're letting all the junk flood in?
I try to stop the flow, double-clicking on the go
But it's no use; hey, I'm being consumed
Loading... Loading... Loading...
Quickly reaching maximum capacity
Warning... Warning... Warning!
Gonna short-circuit my identity
Get up on your feet, tear down the walls
Catch a glimpse of the hollow world
Snooping 'round town will get you nowhere
You're locked up in your mind...
We're all trapped in a maze of relationships
Life goes on with or without you
I swim in the sea of the unconscious
I search for your heart, pursuing my true self
So what happens after this? Only God knows. All i can do for now is apply for scholarships and see how things go from there. JPA, NSL, Shell, Petronas, Star..... the possibilities are endless. Well, whatever happens happens.
God knows.
What happen to the 'Poh'....
